Thank you Kate for the comprehensive presentation about estate planning and the guess is very knowledgeable about the subject. Explained well. Just a question, If one of my beneficiary is living overseas, what is the process on reaching her and actually receiving my estate? Thank you.

Thank you for this very helpful video . I use a lot of music production software . If I make my own synthesizer presets using software that is licenced to me. Can I add these presets and the unique sounds that they make to my will portfolio ? If a will has two executers and one is convicted of a criminal offence ? Does it annule their executive function ? Does it depend on the offence ?

Australia is a multicultural, multiracial and multireligious society so I expect some queries related to specific communities and addressed them. For instance, Jewish and Muslims have an inheritance law as per their religious books and the inheritance is divided based on that. How Australian law tackles this?

Simple. Federal laws always override religious laws

    My ex husband died
There was a will that most of the family knew existed
Then a new will was signed the day before my ex husband died
His wife of 5 years somehow had a new will signed with her being the only beneficiary by my ex husband the day before he died. Is it valid?

    • @judithhearnshaw8357

Ill add my children were beneficiaries in the will shortly before my ex husband died

If the will was witnessed by 2 JP’s and formatted, it is likely to be hard to contest. In saying that, if the children were not mentioned at all in the 2nd will by the new wife then there could be provision for contest. The new wife obviously wasnt silly, but how much homwork she did before getting him to sign off the day before his death could be the difference to whether his kids will see any benefit from it. Unfortunately, your children need a good lawyer.

@@cloudattack3279 Thanks so much for your reply
We have found out that his wife of 5 years is basically entitled to the first $150,000 then 1/3 of the estate. So at this stage we are waiting to see if she pays up. If my kids havent seen a dime at the 5 month mark they are going to intervene with a letter to state they are making a claim against the estate.
My kids have some legal advice but really dont want to start a fight with this woman.
